One Motor – One Schematic

Our approach to motor control has been to keep things simple and user friendly. Both AC & DC motor controls can have IR remote, RF remote, Wall Switches, Key Pads, RS232 Interfaces, Sun Sensors, Wind Sensors, IP Interface or Timers installed.

• Many of these devices may be hardwired or wireless.
• All of these components are installed on the “RP Bus” with standard 4 conductor phone wire.
• All of these components are a source of a “Button Press”.
• These commands will make a shade, a group of shades or “ALL” shades open, close, or stop.

Integrated Control Systems

Integrating a Control System is simply making motorized window coverings take their command cues from different input devices (usually keypads or touch screens) which also control other devices throughout the home.

Did you know window coverings can be integrated with your home control system? The same remote, touch-screen or wall panel that you are using right now which controls lighting, security, HVAC and audio video equipment can also adjust your window coverings. And with flat screens and wireless technology transforming virtually any room in the house into a “home theater”, motorized window treatments are becoming the norm.

Things to Consider When Buying Motorized Window Shades or Blinds

Power:
Finding a power source for the operation of your window treatments may involve hiding wires behind existing furnishings, plugging into an existing outlet, or wiring into a local outlet. Power voltage requirements depend on the size of the window treatment.

Room Usage:
Lighting and the need for privacy make sunlit rooms, bedrooms, and media rooms the best choices for the installation of motorized window treatments. Security also can warrant the need for motorization of your window treatments.

Child Safety:
Beyond aesthetics, injury and death from entanglement in shade control cords is a very real concern. The best solution is to eliminate cords, made possible by motorized window treatments. Automated shade systems can even operate on a timer customized to your child’s sleeping habits.

Control Options:
Radio Frequency (RF) technology allows for a great deal of flexibility in the operation of electric shades and electric blinds. With the press of a single button, you can simultaneously operate all window treatments in a room or location of your choosing. Integration with lights and Audio-Visual components can be customized into a single remote or touch panel.

Value & Performance:
There are simple ways to lower the costs of your motorized shade system without compromising performance. The key is configuration:

  • You may operate multiple shades with a single motor, sacrificing individual control of each shade.
  • You may avoid extra-large sizes and opt for multiple blinds or shades to cover large windows, utilizing a 2-on-1 control configuration.

Warranties:
Most motors come with a 5-year warranty and electronic components come with a 1-year warranty from the manufacturer. Installation is covered for 1 year by the company that installs your window treatments. If any unlikely problems occur, it is typically within the first year (3 months) of operation, and trip charges and service fees will be covered.
